Candy Cane Stipe Day or Red Green or White day tomorrow! Christmas Treasures - a note went home tonight to remind everyone that our annual Christmas Treasures shopping day is fast arriving - THIS THURSDAY to be exact. Please send in any money you want to give your students to spend and a list of people they wish to shop for. Last year was my first experience and I could not believe the pride that the students had in being able to pick out a present and surprise the people on their shopping list. They were truly thrilled to be giving to others. Thank you to all the parent volunteers for all your hard work to make this happen every year! Whoop Whoop!
Christmas Concert - We will be carol singing three times next week. Our Grade 2/3 and 3/4 class performance of a Canuck 12 days of Christmas will be on Thursday during middle block next week. 11:30 to finish (1:15 latest). Please join us if you can. We may be asking for your child to send in ....um...uniquely Canadian items for the performance. lol We will also be making some of them. Notices to come by Friday this week. Nothing needs to be purchased. We will only use what students can offer to bring in or make. Absolutely NO cost to you. We are bringing in food daily however it is not as much in the past. We realize it is a tough time for all but if you have any cans of food to spare for needier families in our area , anything will be appreciated. Thank You!
Last week of Christmas Cheer. All food will be donated locally! Monday - 6 boxes of KDinner faa laa laa laa la...la la la laaaaaaa.
Well, it's December already. We have flown through November and only 3 weeks away from Christmas Break. We are busy finishing up patterning in math, learning about various holiday celebrations in December and strengthening our writing by adding details to our sentences. Power sentence writing strategies.
We had a Character Education Assembly where we presented our thoughts on Responsibility. Congratulations to Matthew, Keira, Lilly and Stephanie on receiving a Star Student Award this month. Your efforts, courage and leadership are examples for us all to follow. We will be thinking about what we can do for our Christmas concert. We love to perform (well most of us). lol I will let you know which one of three times we will be slotted in to perform for our school. Meanwhile keep checking back. I will try to update our math, science, social studies and language pages this weekend. IMPORTANT - We are once again collecting donations for the Angus Food bank for our 12 days of Christmas food drive. Please send in any food items you feel you can part with over the next month. Thank you for your support. It was nice to touch base with all of those who could attend. I'm afraid the weather may have interfered with some of the appointments. I am happy to meet you at any time that we can conveniently arrange. (I am a hockey mom and a taxi driver to two working teenagers so I am called to task a few days a week). If you have any questions or concerns after our short conversations please don't hesitate to call me. (Email to arrange a time..my voice mail is being fixed at the moment.) I will call you if I have any questions or concerns from here on as well.
Thank you for taking the time out come and meet with me. I completely understand and relate to the challenge for many in this day and age of long work hours and odd work schedules. |
Happy 7th Birthday Aaron!
